But you do not need to worry. My friend and I visited Ontario last winter.

How to deal with winter in Ontario: The Basics
When a person is not a local citizen of any area and wants to go there, he wants to know some essential things about it, like weather conditions, Road conditions, things to do, etc.
So I am going to explain basic and essential things about it.
What is the introduction of winter in Ontario like?
Ontario winter starts in December and goes to the End of March. And the temperature goes down from 0 degrees to -30 degrees.
The temperature range depends on how close you are to northern Ontario. At the same time, Southern Ontario’s temperature was a little higher than that of Northern Ontario.
In that time, days were short and cold. Daylight time is too short . Due to weather conditions you need to be ready for tornadoes and snowfall.

Niagara Falls.
My recommendation is that Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful places to visit for a winter adventure in Ontario. You can reach it here after driving 2 hours from Toronto.
It is the most incredible place in Ontario. Most of the water is frozen due to winter. But flowing water shows different colours of light in winter.
Due to its excellent views, it is also known as the Honeymoon Capital of the World. Niagara organises the Winter Festival of Lights, which starts on 1st November and goes onward and ends in February.

Toronto
Toronto is small in area but the best place to see in winter; due to Its excellent views, people know it as the winter gateway for couples.It is a multicultural place.
It is also a city of festivals. Too many festivals are organised here every year, like Christmas Light Festivals that are organised in winter. That doubles the winter experience in Toronto.
The Toronto Christmas market is also a fun place to visit. It opens every Saturday and Sunday after 6 P.m. Most of the people spend winter weekends here. We have been spending five days in Toronto in the winter.

Ottawa
Ottawa is a historical city. It’s the capital of Canada. It’s a very beautiful city with many governmental buildings. Therefore it’s a great place to go in whole year .
In winter, it’s famous due to skating on a long canal that is called the Rideau Canal.
It’s 125.517 miles long. This canal is available for skating in the month of February for 20 to 25 days only. This canal connects the Ottawa River to the St. Lawrence River.
I am recommending that if you plan a trip to Ottawa in winter, you must come in the days of Winterlude. It a festival organised every winter in Ottawa and Gatineau, Quebec. I like this festival due to the Accora Village Bed Race · BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival, and BougeBouge Ottawa.
Ottawa is the best place in Ontario. Moreover, it has 9 best museums. Canada Aviation and Space Museum is famous for all of these.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is located near the town of Mono and the north side of Toronto. You can reach it here after driving 1.5 hours from Toronto. This will be very beautiful because of the hiking trails.
It’s famous for its beautiful scenic views of hike trails and wildlife. People come here for outdoor activities like hiking. This park remains less crowded on other days, while at weekends, this park remains busy for the whole Day.
You can go hiking or camping and take photographs here.
Algonquin Provincial Park.
Algonquin Provincial Park is the best winter destination in Ontario. it is the largest and oldest park in Canada. It covered an area of 7,600 square kilometres.
This park is famous due to its snowfall and wildlife like bears and mice. This park is open all winter. But very busy in the winter. You need to take a pass to enter. you can take pass from the ontario parks website.
You can do too many activities in winter in this park while camping in this park is my favourite. In winter, the lakes are frozen, which is the best place to skate and ice fishing.

It’s the second largest city in Canada . With the over population . Thunder is famous due to its natural beauty of mountains. it is best city for those people who like the thrill of hiking and winter landscapes.
It one of the best place for outdoor activities in Ontario. its also known for its rich history because of its museums .

Bracebridge.
It is a small town situated in the Muskaka . You can reach it here after driving 2 hours from Toronto. Its distance is 200 km north of tornoto . It is situated along the Muskoka River.
Bracebridge is also known as the heart of Muskoka. It is also famous for its winter landscapes and fire and ice festival. That is held on the last weekend in January of every year. This festival is famous for its super snow slide.

- Santa’s Village is only available during December vacations near Christmas. Here, you can enjoy amusement rides and the opportunity to live with Santa.

Orangeville is a small town situated in southern Ontario. You can reach it here after driving 1.5 hours from Toronto in the north.
Orangeville is famous due to its picturesque landscapes, excellent views and rich history. It’s also a very beautiful town in the north of Toronto. People come here to stay in cabins in the snowy woods.

Nottawasaga Resort is my famous resort in alliston or new New Tecumseth Alliston is a small town and famous due its excellent views of forests .
There are too many resorts in Alliston, but I like Nottawasaga Resort. Because of its snowy atmospher. It’s also known as the best place for marriage and leisure trips in Alliston, Canada.
These resorts have indoor pools for swimming and have the best options for dining and shopping.

Arrowhead Provincial Park.
Arrowhead Provincial Park is located in the heart of Ontario Muskoka near the town of Huntsville. You can reach the park after the drive of 20 minutes.
Arrowhead Provincial Park is famous due to the large network of skating trails in Ontario. This park is full of ice in winter. And to much busy in winter . So you must take the tickets in advance . It have a long 1.3 kilometers ice skating trail.
This park is also known for its beautiful frozen lakes and lush forests. Here, you can go skating on frozen lakes and ice fishing. It’s also known for its vast network of hiking trails. You can do many outdoor activities here, but the campfire is my favourite one.

- Hiking Trails. There are too many options for trial, like Stubb’s Falls trail and Mayflower Lake. As we mentioned above, this park is famous for its vast network of hiking trails. You can hike in the mountains, walk around the lakes, and enjoy winter in Ontario, Ontario. At the same time, I like the trail of Mayflower Lake.
- Kayaking. You can paddle on the water of Arrowhead Lake, Mayflower Lake, or Big East River; that is why winter is the perfect time to visit this park.
- Swimming Activities. Besides that, I like Swimming in all of the winter activities in Ontario. In this park, you can go swimming on sandy beaches at Arrowhead Lake or Mayflower Lake.
- Camping. This park provides facilities for car camping and backcountry camping. You can set up your tent on the campsite and enjoy your camping.
Huntsville.
Huntsville is the largest town of Muskoka. It is one of the best places to visit in Ontario during the winter. You can reach it here after driving 2.5 hours from Toronto and 1.5 hours from Barrie.
Huntsville is known for its beautiful lakes and forests . It is also known as Gateway to Algonquin Park. Its also famous due to excellent Arts community,With art galleries , studios and local events.
Here, you can view wildlife, hike, camp, take photographs, etc.
Niagara on the Lake.
Niagara on the Lake is situated in the Niagara Region of Ontario.
It’s present at the start of the Niagara River, where it meets Lake Ontario. You can reach it by car, 20 minutes from Niagara Falls and 1.75 hours from Toronto.
Niagara on the Lake is a historic city that is available to tourists throughout the year.
It is famous due to the ice wine festival. And also for the top 30 wineries in Canada.
Ice wine is a special kind of dessert that is only made in Canada. It has a sweet, Fruity taste. In the winter, This place is too busy and nearby restaurants provide dining for a minimum of four people.
This town is also known as the prettiest town in Canada due to its Beautiful architecture and scenic waterfalls.

Muskoka is situated at a drive of 3 hours from Toronto. It is also known as a home of waterfalls. It looks like cottage country in summer while equally beautiful for a winter getaway. One of the best things about this place is Arrowhead Provincial Park, which has already been explained. It is a very awesome park in Ontario.

Orillia is a small city situated in central Ontario, between Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe. Orillia is because Stephen Leacock’s house
is owned by a Canadian author. Stephen Leacock was a Canadian teacher and political scientist. Orillia is also famous due to the Mariposa Folk Festival. It’s also the best winter getaway in Ontario.

1. Explore the Stephen Leacock Museum and Ontario Provincial Police Museum.
2. Do Outdoor Activities like swimming at Couchiching Beach Park, which is located on the shores of Lake Couchiching.
3. Enjoy music and Community at the Mariposa Folk Festival.
4. Explore the markets and Restaurants at the Downtown Orillia. Downtown Orillia has 30 best restaurants.

Elora
Elora is a small village situated in Wellington County along with the Grand River.
You can reach here after driving 1.5 hours from Toronto and 30 minutes from Guelph. It is also a historic town and the best winter weekend getaway.
It is famous because of 19th-century limestone architecture like Elora Mill, Victoria Street, St. John’s Anglican Church, Elora Public Library, Elora United Church, Elora Town Hall, Elora Centre for the Arts, etc.
In winter, Elora is transformed into a wonderland. In winter, you can explore the cliffs of Elora Gorge, which rises 22 meters above the river.

Kitchener and Waterloo are two different cites located in watterloo region of west Toronto . It is famous due to winter festival Kitchener-Waterloo. Its a popular popular winter festival.

It is a small village situated in Simcoe County that is present from a distance.
Twenty-four miles in the width of Barrie. It is popular due to Creemore Springs beer and its hiking trails like Bruce Trail, Mad River Loop Trail, and Laneway Trail.

Timmins is a small city situated in Northeastern side of Ontario. You can reach here after the trailing to 17 hours from Toronto . It is famous due to the historic mining of gold. As well as outdoor activities like Snowmobiling. It is a no one Canada’s top snowmobiling regions.

Rouge National Urban Park is situated in the Greater Toronto Area. The park is entirely centred around the Rouge River. This is famous Because of its hiking trails like Rouge Valley Trail, Cedar Trail, Mast Trail, Vista Trail, Bob Hunter Memorial Park Trail, Orchard Trail, Beare Road Trail, etc.
This park is a paradise for hiking in winter. Here, You can see 225 bird species and other wildlife like white-tailed deer, eastern coyotes, raccoons, Etc.

As we discussed already if we go northern side to ontario temperature will goes down . Sudbury is city that located in northern side of ontario. You will reach here after the driving of 4 hours from Toronto . You need to covers distance of 240 miles from Toronto.
Sudbury is famous due to its high temperature . In winter its temperature goes down to -20 °C . Its park and tree are fully filled with ice that looks very beautiful and very best for skating .
Sudbury have many lakes likes like Ramsey Lake, Lake Wanapitei, Lake Nepahwin, Lake Laurentian, Lake Panache, Lake Wahnapitae, Lake Penage, Whitewater Lake, Onaping Lake, Lake Nipissing .
It is also known for its famous science museum, Science North, and unique mining landmarks.

Owen Sound is a small city situated in grey country. That is present at a distance of 120 miles from Toronto. This is the best place to visit in Ontario this winter.
Owen sound is famous because of its beautiful scenes and no of waterfalls like Inglis Falls, Indian Falls, Jones Falls, Weavers Creek Falls, McGowan Falls but Jones falls is favourite one.
